Job Purpose

 

The StaffCircle platform is built in C# .NET back-end and Vue.JS as the front-end framework and run on Microsoft Azure using the Micro-Services pattern so our new Front-end Developer will have direct experience with Vue.JS and other JS Frameworks plus experience in Microsoft Azure and REST APIs is an advantage.

 

As a StaffCircle Developer you will be responsible for extending our front end systems and working directly with the Head of Development and our senior developers.

 

You will be working in a small team of developers (The Core Dev Team) to extend and enhance the StaffCircle platform as an ongoing basis and as a highly valued member of our core dev team you will be instrumental in the ongoing design and development of the StaffCircle platform.

 

As the business develops in the next couple of years, we will expand the development team and the you will help bring on/nurture additional developers and possibly move to a senior developer or even a team leader role where a pod of developers will report to you. However, it is feasible you may want to stay in a hands-on developer role which perfectly acceptable and this can be disused at the time.

Duties and Responsibilities

Develop High Quality Solutions

 

·     Use your back-end development skills and work with the Head of Platform and Head of Development to bring the StaffCircle platform to life.

·       Be part of a small dev team to deliver Version 2 of SCP and then help scale the team as the company expands.

·       Manage the regular, iterative development cycles. 

·       Ensure high quality standards are maintained within your team.

·       Assist in daily scrum meetings and help split up work into individual sprints.

·       Ensure peer review of code and test coverage are features of the teams’ best practice and covered regularly by yourself to ensure good quality code from the outset.

·       Actively drive continuous improvement in the team, company's products and processes.

·       Lead by example, through the production of quality production code that’s maintainable, reusable, extendable and testable.

·       Aid the Software Architect to ensure a solid design around components that are owned by the API team.

·       During creation of production code keep in mind the need to monitor the health of API components.

·       Ensure key person dependencies are removed by using sprints as an opportunity to cross skill API team members.

  

Collaboration and Relationships

 

·       With team members to co-ordinate creation of tasks and track progress through the sprint on the Kanban board and chat communication using Slack.

·       With the Head of Development to agree priorities, provide estimates, report progress and identify risks/impediments and mitigations using Slack and/or Skype.

·       With other future Development Team Leads and Developers to maintain and share knowledge.

·       With the QA team to ensure high-quality, thoroughly tested output from your team.


Your skills and Knowledge

 

·       Strong problem-solving skills.

·       Ability to work in a small or medium sized team.

·       Expert with relevant design principles and best practice.

·       Gifted Vue.JS and C# .NET developer

·       Knowledge of front-end JavaScript frameworks such as Vue.js

·       Expert software design / architecture, and development skills.

·       Experience in developing multi-tenant SaaS applications with REST APIs.

·       Experience in integrating 3rd party software solutions using REST and OAUTH.

·       Experience in developing Micro-services architecture pattern an advantage.

·       Experience working with real-time message queues an advantage.

·       Expert in troubleshooting complex software issues including in unfamiliar code.

·       Able to solve complex problems and suggest solutions under tight timescales.

·       Methodical with attention to detail and the ability to maintain a consistent approach.

·       Proven track record of delivering products from an agile development team.

·       Solid understanding of our Core technologies i.e. Azure, VMs, Message Queues, C# .NET, SQL, Web Services (REST & SOAP), Window Services.

 

 

Reporting structure

 

You will report directly to the Head of Development but maintain a direct relationship with the CEO.
