How to make comments against an employee’s objective
In this lesson, we will look at how to use the conversation feature to make comments against an employee’s personal objective. The conversation feature allows the Reviewer (you) and the Reviewee (the employee) to converse regarding the objective.
Unlike the progress updates section, the conversation area has a significantly higher word count. It will also allow the sender to include photos, file attachments, and emojis.
Step One
Navigate to the Objectives and Reviews area using the side-bar navigation on the left-hand side of your screen. This is usually displayed as a clip board icon. Opening this page will display all your open personal objectives.
If you are using our New Menu Feature, hover over the Objectives and Reviews section of the side-bar, then navigate to:
Manage➡️Objectives
Select the Objectives title and proceed with step three.
Step Two
Select the MANAGE button in the top right-hand corner of your screen to access the Manager functions of the objective area.
Remember that MYSELF mode will display all of your own objectives, whereas MANAGE mode will allow you to manage objectives on behalf of other employees (including the employees that you manage) and perform actions for objectives where you are the Reviewer.
Step Three
The Objective Manager page will display a list of open objectives. To find a specific objective or type of objectives you may wish to utilise the filters bar or interactive buttons at the top of the page.
Click on the Title of the objective to open the Objective details page.
Step Four
In the bottom right-hand corner of the Objective details page, you will see the OBJECTIVE CONVERSATION area.
If this is showing as disabled then the conversation feature has not been enabled for this objective type.
Step Five
Write your comment in the text box and click the paper aeroplane icon to submit the comment. The comment will now display in the objective conversation area.
The Reviewee for this objective will receive the associated notifications for this objective including a direct link to the comment that you have made.
